VIII. ALLEN MORTERMORE CAVERLY 1867 - 1961

Allen and Lily had four children. The oldest was Elsie Cinderella who was born May 25, 1897. She married Ed Neck. They had two sons and a daughter. Ed died in 1968 in Prescott, MI. Elsie died in 1973 in the Detroit, MI area. They are buried in the Logan Township Cemetery. They are pictured on the left.

Allen and Lily’s son Lawrence was born Oct. 30, 1899. He married Theresa McMillan at St. Brigids Catholic Church on Oct. 22, 1926 in Midland, MI. They moved to the Ferndale, MI area where he was an excavating contractor. They had six sons and two daughters. Lawrence died in 1968 and Theresa died in 1997, both in Southfield, MI.

Lawrence and Theresa’s son Larry James died Aug. 14, 1981 and son Thomas Patrick died Aug. 16, 1999.

Below is a picture of Allen Mortermore with his son Lawrence in the late 1940s or early 1950s.

Son Emil on the left, was born March 22, 1901. He never married. He farmed and took care of his father. He died Jan. 30, 1978 in Hale, MI from an aorta myocardial infraction.

The youngest child was Mary who married Steve Karafa. They had three sons and a daughter. He died Sept. 24, 1983 in Tawas, MI. Mary, pictured on the right, continued to live near Stylus Lake until her death on May 18, 2004.
